How to require email verification for event types
Calendly has built-in spam protections to help prevent unwanted bookings. For added security, you can require email verification on your event types. This ensures that invitees have access to the email address they enter, helping reduce spam and confirming the use of valid email accounts.
This can be useful if you share your booking links on a website, social media, or in an email blast. This feature is available for all event types, including admin-managed event types.
What invitees experience
- The invitee chooses a time, answers any questions, and selects Schedule Event.
- A verification step appears, and a 6-digit code is sent to the email they entered on the booking page.
- The invitee enters the code on the booking page to verify their email.
Once verified, the booking is confirmed, and they see the confirmation page. If the invitee does not complete verification, the event is not booked.
