The Outlook plug-in, sometimes called the Calendly plug-in for Outlook or the Outlook desktop plug-in, is a tool designed to connect Calendly to your desktop Outlook calendar if you are unable to use the Office 365/Outlook.com connection.

For example, you can:

  • Set Calendly to add new scheduled meetings directly to your Outlook desktop calendar.
  • Have Calendly check your Outlook desktop calendar for conflicts.

Before you begin

  • The Outlook plug-in is for Windows only and is not available for Mac. Calendly's Outlook desktop plug-in works with:
    • Outlook 2007 or later
    • Windows XP or newer
  • Calendly's Outlook plug-in is not compatible with Outlook versions downloaded from the Microsoft/Windows store. Download Outlook from your O365 account in order to use the Outlook plug-in.
  • The plug-in runs in the background of your computer and both your computer and the plug-in must be running for successful syncing.
  • Important settings requirements:
    • Outlook and the plug-in must either both run in administrator mode or both not run in administrator mode
    • Configure Outlook to always use the same profile
    • Leave all plug-in settings in their default state unless you have a specific reason to change them

Outlook plug-in vs. Outlook add-in

The Outlook plug-in connects your Outlook calendar to Calendly to check for conflicts and add events. It is separate from the Outlook add-in, which allows you to share your scheduling links and availability from your Outlook toolbar.
